I am 10.5 weeks pregnant. AT 10.2 weeks my dr tried to find the heartbeat using dopplar, but could not, so she tried again next day.According to her she was able to detect the heartbeat for few seconds but then it again disappeared and she was not able to locate . According to her baby was moving a lot. Has any one else experinced same thing?

I rented a doppler, and at 11 weeks, I heard the heart beat for the first time!! Just like you, it's pretty active, so it'll go in and out while I'm listening. It's very normal, I listen every day and it always does it. :)

A lot of people don't even hear the heartbeat at all until they're 13 weeks (about). If she said she caught it for a second she may have not and just telling you that instead of telling you that it's early yet. I only heard the heart beat at 11.5 wks over the ultrasound machine, but not using the handheld heart beat gadget.

My dr tried at 12 wks to find the heartbeat on my first child and this one. Both times the dr gave me an ultrasound in the office in order to find it. Its not uncommon at all. Being 22wks now my baby doesn't like to be still long enough to get the rate so they have to chase him around in my tummy.

My doctor found my baby's heartbeat at 11 weeks, but the baby kept moving, so she gave up "chasing" it after the 3rd time. Before she even tried, she did warn me not to worry if we did not hear it cause it was kind of early.

My doctor was not able to detect my sons heatbeat at ALL until I was 16 weeks. The baby is so small and moving so much its hard to find it sometimes. Congratulations and don't worry.

My boys tend to do that even when they are big enough to be born. Its no big deal. As the baby gets bigger it will be easier for her to pin the little bugger down for a few seconds longer.
