I feel that's his choice as President. You don't have to like it, but the Presidential Veto exists for a reason, as does the Congressional override. I'd like the troops to come home, but with their heads held high. We'll have no end of trouble if we come home with our tails between our legs.

As an independent, I am 100% behind it. Bush knows that we have to finish this war and actually accomplish something. If we don't we are going to be the laughing stock of the world and no one will take our military threats seriously. Think about it. A country with our military might, spends years in a country that is in ruins, fighting rag tag terrorist teams and cannot win! We would never be taken seriously again. I think he has every right to veto this bill. A veto, like a congressional override, is just one of the many checks and balances we have in our government that helps it to work well. My point being, if Bush was way out of control with his action they would be able to pass a congressional override, stopping him. Because congress cannot do this, it means their are more people with Bush than against him in this decision!

Bush asked for funding,
what the Dem's are asking for is not in their power. If Bush signs this bill he will be giving up part of the Presidential power. This would delude the separations of powers act, and tie future Presidents hands.
If a President abuses His/Her power the Houses have the power of the Purse.
The Dem's are the ones who are trying to make a power move. If they feel this is an unjust President, they have one option, pull funding and force the troops home.
They however lack the will, and are protecting their own positions.
They run from camera to camera and cry that the President is un-yielding. and I hope they are damn right

because... a million) It supplies a diverse date that we'd be leaving allowing the undesirable adult males to plot their next enormous offensive and a couple of) It develop into loaded up with beef to strengthen the cost of the bill 40% of its unique fee It supplies the President a thanks to get funding for persevered operations or blame the Democrats for reducing the money. Edit - corygryph it really is two for 2 perfect now. Why is it ok for a Democrat President to apply the veto and that is not refusing to percentage capacity yet really using his Constitutional rights as President, yet even as Bush threatens to veto a bill it really is merely about 0.5 back as a lot its him desirous to act on my own?

He is wanting to finish the job that he and his father started.
If a Democrat gets into office, us troops will still be over there. If we pulled out of Iraq, and then the country goings to crap, or another country invades it, the President will be at fault. Bush might have invaded Iraq, but if the new President pulls us out, and the country fails, that President will be the one to blame, not Bush.

Bush is showing disrespect to Empress Pelosi because he is not submitting to her stupidity and treason. The United States Constitution says it is congress' duty to supply funding but our Empress is above the Constitution.
Long Live Empress Pelosi and down with the Constitution!
