I'm sure most of us know that many races/ethnic groups discriminate against features that their own people have...such as lighter/darker skin, straight/kinky hair, and blonde vs. brunette vs. redhead...

Why do you think these things have come about? I'm not knocking preferences, but why dislike a whole group of your people based on these different physical features?

I have experienced that too. Some people I know have come down hard on me with insults and worse. They have told me that I hate blacks. At that particular moment I thought, "Yea, I do right now". But no I don't normally. It gets me how they can say this about me and in the same breath tell me they hate whites. My ex was light skinned, "high yellow" he was called and got negative feedback. My little nieces have "good hair" and other members of the family including me have "bad hair". Yes, you are correct, there is so much discrimination within our own ethnicity, it's a shame. I think this is so because there is a lot of jealousy and resentment. God Bless Us All!

i'm a lightskin black female, as i became into transforming into up human beings used to declare..female you at the instant are not black you're white, or you're intense yellow. yet certainly i think of i'm answerable for doing the comparable while i think of roughly it. once I see black adult males with dishevelled pants and issues like that I actual have a tendency to get uneasy and lock the doorways, regardless of the reality that 9 cases out of 10 they weren't going to hardship me besides. My boyfriend my brother and my cousins, and a few of my acquaintances dresse in dishevelled clothing and that i comprehend they might in no way injury every physique. think of roughly it, all of us has discriminated against their very own race or somebody elses, no remember if or not this is intentional or unintended. i'm ashamed of what I actual have executed..yet I actual are starting to be significantly better.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I think most of it comes from a time when it wasn't OK to be black. So the closer you were to looking white ( light skin, straight hair) the better. I hate the term "good hair". When you tell a child that they have so called "bad hair" , they can think that somehow they are bad. Likewise, using "good hair " can make them feel that they are above everyone else. It's funny...if someone white calls you a n_gg_r, they don't look to see how light you are first. Black is black!

They are stupid. If I dislike someone, it's because I hate their character and they way they treat people. I have never discriminated against other black people for such a thing. Whether they were light/dark skinned, nappy haired/fair haired. Black people need to wake up. They are just doing what "the others" want them to, hate and destroy their own people. Love and embrace your beauty!

I am Native American and I get treated different in my own culture and have seen others treated worse.

The derrogatory slang in my culture is "Apple" (red outside, white inside).
