If you think he is controlling NOW just wait until he gets that marriage certificate!! NOT only will he probably get MORE controlling, he might also get violent!! Men who are like that see a marriage certificate as some type of "ownership papers" and you can kiss ALL of your freedom, your friends, your hobbys and anything else that you love (besides HIM) goodbye!
Ive BEEN THERE and DONE that and take it from me.. GET OUT NOW before it gets worse!! It will hurt like HELL to leave a man that you still love but it will hurt a LOT worse to stay in the relationship! By staying (and by marrying him) you are only going to be prolonging the ineveitable and causing yourself a LOT more pain in the long run!! Let it hurt now... it will get better!!
Listen to the song "Let Goodbye Hurt" or "Part of Me" by Suzy Bogguss both on the "Aces" cd for some strength to get through this (music has ALWAYS helped me in times like this!!)
Much luck and love in the future!!

The one and only reason you are saying "I love him" is because you don't have anyone else that loves you better, so you are settling for less than you deserve. If you have any self respect the next time he calls you will tell him you really are worthy of being treated better and are moving on. Then block his number. Loosing a little sleep and not eating is not going to kill you. Concentrate on the sunny days ahead.

What you are experiencing is the step before physical abuse happens. You can't change him, only he can change himself. If I were you, I would make the breakup permanent, and go find yourself a real man who you can love and who will love and respect you.

If I were you, I would find the strenght to leave him. He will not change unless he's willing to get therapy, and the controlling issues will just get worse.

Tell him when he shows you a certificate of graduation from anger management classes you'll THINK about it.
People like this don't suddenly stop being violent.

He is abusing you, plain and simple. If you marry him, it will be worse. Love is respect more than anything else. Talk to a professional, you dont have to take it.
