an elderly lady and her husband got put into the hospital because they are ill. there house is full of cats, even tho they are hospitalized with no one to care for their pets the news cameras are all over this, such filth such disgust some of their words. Is this news?, why don't we just go to the hospital and beat this elderly couple with socks filled with kitty litter.

Well, I don't know if I would call it news...maybe local news, but not national headlines! But to be honest, it is sad to me that these couple are in the hospital taken ill and they have animals and no one to care for them. I'm sure when they're home and well enough, they must take care of their animals very well. I think that maybe it should be in the news for a good purpose and not for mockery. Maybe it's in the news so that these cats can find homes. Filth and disgust probably happened over time SINCE the couple were admitted into the hospital. I'm sure it was clean and respectable before they left home. I think remark about beating them with the socks of kitty litter was tasteless, nonetheless, no judgment on you, personally.

l've seen stories like this on Animal Planets SPCA series, they (the SPCA) usually step in and care for the animals and if the house is in need of help they get social services in. Of course the SPCA doesn't show any news crews that may be on the scene 'cause their only concern is the animals. If the animals get turned over to them, they try to adopt them out. And shame on the news for thinking this is news.

Yes, I think it's news, but probably not with the slant the journalists are giving it. It should rather be a story about the sad trend of the elderly not being cared for by their children/grandchildren.
