Rosebud or Porettas in Chicago. Any Italian-owed restaurant usually does it well....not chains like Olive Garden.

I love Johnny Carrinos country italian restaurant. They have a great tilapia and pasta dish.

Years ago I would have said Mario's in Richmond, Virginia... over next to Douglas Freeman High School. But... alas... Mario disappeared...

I have gone to several Italian places here in Wisconsin, but when in Madison, WI I go to Lombardino's
in Fond du Lac, I go to Johnathan's Italian Bistro. Olive Garden is very good, but the places I mentioned beat them hands down. So if you are in the area, stop in; we'll be waiting for you.

I like Olive Garden, even tho is a chain restaurant. and what is wrong with chain restaurants, only because they have success and were able to expand that doesn't mean they're bad.
