I have a smaller tank and just want a couple of fish. I really like the black mollies. Can I put two of these together? I've read that they do best in groups of 3, but what if I get two males?

I have another similar question posted, but is there another fish that would be better? I don't want goldfish or bettas. Also don't want a bunch of babies. Someone had suggested Dwarf gourami with a cory..would that work? I'm open to suggestions!

A dwarf gourami and a cory would be fine in your 5 gallon. If you want livebearers like mollies or guppies, stick to all males. You can easily put 3 male mollies in the tank or 6-7 male guppies in the tank if you are willing to do the regular weekly water changes. Please don't even consider the totally bogus and broken 1" per gallon "rule" so many people are completely fooled by. It almost never fits any situation.

I also like killifish for small tanks, very colorful and interesting

I would not get Black Mollies unless your tank is 20 gal or larger. Black Mollies are social and like to live in groups. You would want to have at least 4 of them and that is too much for a 5 gal tank. A single Dwarf Gourami and 2 Cory Catfish should be fine in your 5 gal tank.

A Dwarf Gourami and a Cory would work... but Cories like a friend.

An Azure Killifish would be good, or Agassiz' Dwarf Cichlid...

never! this is greater straightforward to reproduce mollies than to no longer breed mollies :) basically positioned a male and ladies individuals at the same time (this is suited to have 2 women individuals for each male - adult males are very amorous and could pester single women individuals) and that they'll throw out 20++ infants each and every 30 days. in my view, i do unlike utilising breeding nets. this is a great form of tension for the mummy fish to be caught in a caught in there at the same time as having her infants. it may effect in her aborting them too early. I decide to bypass by using after and catch the infants with a internet. this is particularly straightforward, and in case you grant a great form of plant conceal for them, they gained't get eaten by their gluttonous mothers and dads. Oh, same is going for all your different questions bearing directly to the swordtails and platies. Livebearers are somewhat straightforward to reproduce (at the same time with guppies, and endlers livebearers). basically save the water sparkling (including slightly aquarium salt can help, approximately 1tbsp/10gallons, yet isn't mandatory) feed them nicely, and practice for the flood of infants! :)
