They have already admitted to illegally wire tapping and forming a database of anti-war protesters. Sounds like their own words say "yes".

if you are a real american there would not be a pro to this question. there would be no good thing that comes from our government invading our privacy. we are in fear of our government and have been for a long time. it needs to be the other way around the government should be in fear of the people they govern. they should be in fear that if they screw up us americans are going to step up and change it (the government) if it is not doing what it needs to be doing.

sure and especially after 9/11. back in the 1940s & 1950s (might also be true in the 1960s) your library card was scanned both by the library & the government to see what you were reading. i'm sure there are agencies that scan the net & us to see what we visit, where we visit & for duration, etc. is it right? well, not really but then since we've got bozos that hack & chip their way into govt sites, goons that blow up buildings (that we might be in at the time) and creeps that fly plans into areas other than airports, sometimes i'm glad bit brother IS watching. if it saves my bacon, who's to complain?

As a whole, yes, individually it's hard to say. None of us know if or when our correspondence or private matters could be or have been intercepted by the government or for what purpose.

At times. But it doesn't bother me, I have nothing to hide. As long as its for the right reasons, and keeping my country safe, so be it. Its a sacrifice I am willing to make for the greater good.
