What happened on Grey's Anatomy last night?

The show starts out with the interns quizing each other for their intern exams while Preston is trying to decide which cake to have for the wedding. It is brought up that Callie has a set of study cards that made her all but prefect on her exam.

Meredith apologized to Derek about saying that he was hovering, telling him that she would be more communicative, telling him what she will be doing. She told him she was getting on the elevator and then would do rounds.

Meanwhile, Preston has decided to make others help pick the cake by bringing sapples for people to test.

Miranda taking one of the mini cakes tells the interns that they will do no surgeries. They will have clinic hours and they will study for their exams. Alex will check on Eva.

Next, the chief comes in and tells Miranda that the head of the board is coming in for treatment and this has to be handled discretely.

Mark tells Addison that there are only 28 days left to their deal. She tells him that he may still fail. He tells her so may she.

Meanwhile people are eating a lot of cake.

Alex checks in on Eva who tells him about Addison and the 28 days and about how she is not into Mark and how she is into him and how everyone has slept with this nurse but then again he knows that since he slept with that nurse as well.

Then the head of the board arrives and all of the attendings show up to try and help and get his vote for chief. He had swollen testicles and is unable to urinate. He says he will give his vot to whoever hixes him, so; they run tests while Addison sees there is nothing for her to do there.

In the clinic Izzie and George are treating a man with a runny nose who has been there four times before and he wants to have sex but the nose is a big nuissance. He asks them if they have ever had someone around them that they just knew they had to have sex with. Izzie and George sidestepped the question.

Miranda is told by the chairman's assistant that she needs to be tested too as she has been sleeping with the chairman.

Meredith keeps sending messages to Derek about what it is that she is doing every minute of the day. Derek explains to Preston what is going on and how he is trying to figure out how this effects his run at chief. Preston tells him how this is one of those thing he does not expect to know as he tells Christina the way things are up front.

Lindsey is filling in for Miranda in the clinic and she is having Izzie irrigate the man's nose who is complaining of a runny nose. She thinks it is overkill but does it anyway.

Christina thinks that George married into Callie's study cards and tells Meredith that she is going to make a play for them. She tries but Callie tells her she is not giving her the cards.

The chairman is upset with Richard because he picked Richard to be chief because Richard was the best surgeon in the hospital and he expects him to solve the problem and stop dumping things off on others.

Addison is told by Callie that she caught George in a lie about Izzie. Addison is telling Callie she is less interested in Mark than Alex but neither of them is the marrying kind. Callie thinks Alex will be the marrying kind one day. Addison returns the advice by telling Callie if she is worried then prhaps she should be. Eva is in her room listening to all this.

The chief has learned that the chairman has a penis fish in his bladder which needs to be removed. it shows up on the xray.

Miranda goes to find Meredith and Christina and tell them to take the chairman for tests because he has a penis fish. Miranda wonders how big it is but would rather see for herself. She is glad to help with his "VIPenis".

Izzie is lavaging the man in the clinic when Miranda wonders why and Izzie tells her it was Lindsey's idea. Miranda tells her to stop but then she notices the man left a halo shaped blood spot on the pillow. Miranda orders a head CT for the patient.

George goes to tell the assistant that she is fine but then the chairman's wife arrives and asks her to move her car.

Richard, Preston, Christina, Miranda and Meredith have to tell the chairman that he has a penis fish. Christina is enjoying this so much she tell the man about a guy who actually saw the fish jump up whe he went to take a piss. They tried to stop her at that point.

At lunch the interns are eating more cake, Meredith is telling them what she is doing so they can tell it to Derek, Christina is still thinking about Callie's cards. The pair talk about the assistant and about the penis fish being a punishment for cheating. Meredith says her drowning was her penis fish.

Callie catches Izzie at an elevator and asks her to find a new friend because Callie wants the same thing with George that he has with Izzie. Callie has no idea that they slept together.

Alex goes to check on Eva and she is trying to tell him that Addison wants to have sex with him when she turns and in doing so passes out. Alex has Addison paged who decides it is time to deliver the baby c section.

Meanwhile Miranda is telling Derek and Izzie that the CT show the patient in the clinic needs surgery. Derek says he is leaking spinal fluid out his nose. Izzie wants in on the surgery but Miranda says no and says she has to do this one on her own. She also has to help on the chairman.

Christina has managed to persuade Callie to give her the cards even though Callie intended to give them to george to share, but Christina mentions that he will only share them with Izzie, so Callie tells Christina exactly where to find them.

The c section is going well, the baby is a girl, and Eva is fine but getting nervous and Addison barks out commands to stop the bleeding. Alex takes his mask off as he steps near Eva's face and calms her down. Addison is impressed with Alex's maturity and compassion. After the delivery Addison attacks Alex in the Hallway and has sex with him in one of the rooms. On their way out of he room Mark sees this and knows that she cheated on him.


Richard, Mark and Preston begin the surgery on the chairman as Bailey and Shepherd work on the man from the clinic. Richard is wondering where Miranda is as Miranda ia helpings Derek fix the leak in the man's head. Miranda is called away form the brain surgery to help with the penis fish. Izzie and George are up in the gallery watching Mirand and Derek as george wants Izzie to quiz him but she is having difficulty with what Callie has told her. She tells George that he is her penis fish, he is inside her and she can't get him out. He wonders when she developed a penis. Meredith and Christina arrive to observe the chairman's surgery and Meredith asks Mark what they have missed. The surgery is not going well and richard steps in and cuts open the man's bladder to get at the fish. Miranda arrives and eventually the chief pulls a six inch fish out of the chairman as everyone winces with pain just thinking about it. Afterwards Mark hits on Meredith trying to get even for Addison sleeping with Karev but Meredith talk him out of it and into talking to Addison.

George is the one who has to tell the chairman's wife that the surgery was a success. The wife tells him to tel the assistant because she is not up to telling her husband's lover what is up. George looks surprised. The wife says that the wife always knows when her husband is cheating on her.

Alex goes to check in on Eva who is thankful for all he did for her and wants to tell him that Addison wants to have a relationship with him and not Mark. She tells him that he is a catch and unlike Mark he is someone to settle down with. She says Addison and Callie think the same thing.

In the on call room Izzie is scarfing down what is left of the cake and asking Preston for a vault she has eaten so much cake. He is telling her how the cake means so much to him. She is telling him how she slept with a married man. He is telling her how he did not want to know that. She is telling him it was George. He is telling her how the cake should be firm an not so spongy. He is telling her how important a wedding day should be. He is saying how you want it just right. Izzie tells him to go with the red velvet cake which he seems to like as well.

In the chairman's room his assistant comes in and tells him that she has rescheduled all his appointments and has set him up for a new assistant. She is leaving him. He wonders why. Then his wife decides to leave him too. He wonders why. Then George says I guess I am finished here.

Mark runs into Addison in the stairwells and she wants to have a drink and talk about things. He tells her that there is no reason because he cheated on her and once a manwhore always a manwhore, the deal is off.

In the clinic guy's room Bailey is apologizing for how long it took to pick up on what was wrong with him. From the hallway Izzie and George can see as the man is listening to Bailey and the girl he wanted to have sex with comes in. George tells Izzie that he is transferring to another hospital. He says he has to.

Down in the lobby, Addison offers to take Alex to her place and quiz him on his exams. He thanks her for the offer and the sex but he points out that he is not her boyfriend. She walks out into the rain on that note.

Upstairs Miranda is still working the board when Richard tells her to go home. She says she is not quite finished. He says go home before you have nothing to go home to. She says i hear what you are saying but you seem to be doing the same thing, in other words he is not ready to leave.

At Preston's place, Christina is enjoying Callie's cards while Burke gives her a foot massage and asks her which cake she liked. She picks the red velvet cake and he decides to have sex with her.

At Derek's place Meredith has arrived to communicate and he seems distant so she communicates by taking off her clothes and getting into bed. They have sex and then she tries to communicate some more but he is distant. She finds out it is about her not swimming that day and how he is afraid as to why. It has a little to do with wanting to be chief but a lot to do with fearing losing her. She doesn't know what to tell him so she decides to go home instead.

The last thing you see is Addison walking away from the hospital in the rain.

McDreamy kinda told Meredith he couldn't handle it, so she got out of bed and went home. He wasn't sure if he could handle his career aspirations and her too.

Christine made it obvious she didn't care what kind of wedding cake she had even though Burke got many, many samples.

Izzy and George are not going to be friends anymore. She told him that after his wife talked to her and asked for "her husband back." She (George's wife) saw them feeding each other Christine and Burke's wedding cake samples.

The red-headed doctor slept with Alex and he told her it was fun but she wasn't his girlfriend. She seemed disappointed. He seems to be falling in love with Ava, the pregnant lady with amnesia.

Long story shortened. Meredith is dead because she said she would never be the kind of daughter to help her mother die. Her mother is going to die and this is going to inspire Meredith to come back either to prevent it or because her mother talks to her on the other side. This will allow Meredith the freedom to be that special person her mother thought she would be. The kicker is that If Meredith is free then she is free to leave, or not, to get married, or not, and to focus on her career, or not. This could really change her character.
