Yesterday I asked about a rash that my daughters have ont their bottom. Well I just gave them a bath a noticed that the rash seems to be spreading. I have already made an appointment for Monday. But I was just wondering if any of you moms or anyone else for that matter knows away to stop the rash from spreading even more and stop any itching. I am using corn starch on their bottoms and that seems to help any stinging. But I was told that it can't be used all over.

Give the rashes some air (helps whether they are diaper rash or something else). If it is spreading, then it probably isn't normal diaper rash. Try an over-the-counter yeast infection cream for women (like Monistat). A yeast infection rash looks like someone went crazy with a fine red felt-tipped marker dotting the areas that touch each other like at the leg etc. A regular diaper rash is red all over (use Balmex, Desitin or Triple Paste). Hives or other weirdness indicates something else (if your kids are getting to be pretty old try Benadryl cream).
If they have a fever call the nurseline or ER.

If you are using Luvs, Pampers or any other diaper that has perfume in it stop for now. My son alway broke out with these diapers. Take your daughters out in the son without there diapers on, or let them sit in front of a window with the sun comming through bare bottomed. If the corn starch doesn't seem to be healing the rash then stop using it until you go to the doctor. It might be yeast. There are also many forms of staph which it could also be. Make sure that you are washing the baby wipes out really well with water before using them on your baby.

What sort of rash is it? Have you changed diaper brands lately? Have you changed what you use to bathe them with? Have their diets changed?

Try making a paste with baking soda and water and applying it.
