Rammstein and Scorpions. My favourite German singer is Nina Hagen, though.

Krautrock in the 70s was the cutting edge of rock with bands sucjh as Amon Duul II , Faust , Tangerine Dream , Kraftwerk to name but 4. Most of this music is like nothing you've ever heard before. Highly recommended but a million miles from Alphaville and the Scorpions.
Thiese days Rammstein are the German band worth listening to.

i do know Alphaville, Forever Young is one of my favorite songs, i also used to listen to Rammstein and Die Toten Hosen and i have frinds who listen to Tokio Hotel but i hate it.:) i like Alphaville though.
