I've had about 1 tsp of clear, watery, oderless discharge today. Not much, I know, but could my amniotic fluid be leaking? Baby still moving & no other signs. I'm 38 weeks. Please help as I can't get in touch w/my doctor or nurses.

Amniotic fluid has a very sweet smell to it, if what your having is odorless probably not amnio fluid, but if your really worried go to the hospital thats what were there for!

You are more than at term, you may be leaking but I doubt it. The secretions get weird at the end. If you aren't having any contrations or anything you have two choices, call the labor and delivery floor and have them check you or wait until Monday and see if labor starts this weekend (IF YOU CHOOSE TO WAIT, AVOID SEX OR THE BATHTUB SO THAT YOU DON'T RISK INFECTION). If your amniotic fluid is leaking, they will induce you or tell you to rest with your feet up. If you haven't packed your bags and made arrangments for labor, do so, NOW.

Could be, but you should try to maybe call labor and delivery and ask them if you should come in to check.. There is a dipstick test they can do to be sure. Usually if you are leaking fluid it would happen more than once, but you never know. Better safe than sorry. My water stayed broken for too long and I got an infection, as did my daughter. Thanks Military Doctors!

Well if you are that concerned you can go to the hospital, the ER will and can always do an exam to be sure...plus they will call your gyn if you are in labor!

Best wishes - sounds to me like you broke however it was just small ...you should be getting checked don't want a dry delivery! OUCH.

Get to the ER fast. There's a ton more doctor's there. They will check you to make sure you aren't dialating. It sounds to me like your baby is ready to come out. Good luck!!!!!

No need for ER, just go to your OB's office, or the Labor & Delivery at your hospital to get it checked.
