Of course I'd rather be rich, very rich, but a rich woman who doesn't value material things over much more important stuff like family and friendship, and also a rich woman who helps the poor.

I agree with the Proverbs, which say,

Give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.

Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, 'Who is the LORD ?'
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God.

It doesn't even have to be "religious" in nature--the danger in both riches and poverty exist whether you are talking about God, your friends, or your own name. Nearly all responsible research concludes that the wealthy are no more content than those who are not once a level of basic needs is met--worth thinking about...

neither, i think that being balanced is important.at the extremes i feel that it is too problematic and that it is not a question of money, but a question of satisfaction.
of course between the choice of the two extremes i would rather be rich then being poor, but middle ground is better.

rich, I would rather live life without having to struggle financially ,and see no advantages to being poor. being rich does not doom one to a life of misery

I would rather be in my profession from a position of wealth where I could affect political change with that wealth. Wealth carries political clout that can provide change.

Dosent matter as long as I am happy. As long as I have enough to put food in my mouth, clothes on my back and a roof over my head that is enough. There is enough greed in the world with out my contributing to it. :)

Poor -- The US government gives you food stamps, housing, and free healthcare and all you have to do is not work and have like a million children.
