y = 1 becus if x = 2 then 2-1 =1, and 2+1 =3 wich means its rite (trial and error -gessed (- easy)).

y=x-1 so:
X+x-1=3
2x-1=3
2x=3+1
2x=4
x=4/2
x=2
So:
Y=2-1
Y=1

Therefore: Y=1 and X=2

y=x-1 x+y=3
change the second equation so you only have the y on the left side.
y=3-x
so now we have y=3-x and y=x-1
now substitue x-1 for the y in the first equation to get:
x-1=3-x
2x=4
x=2
If x=2, then y=2-1 which equals 1

if y=x-1, substitute (x-1) for y in the second equation:
x + (x-1) = 3
2x -1 = 3
2x = 4
x = 2
substitute 2 for x in the second equation to solve for y:
2 + y = 3
y = 1
therefore (x,y) = (2,1)

y=x-1
x+y=3
substituting the value of "y"
x+x-1=3
2x=4
x=2
y=x-1(given)
y=2-1
y=1
