God, who knows anymore...
Check the CTA's website--transitchicago.com or one of the blogs, like ctatattler.com

Oh, who can tell anymore, the CTA is constantly doing new construction at awkward times and inconveniencing everyone. It seems like the Red Line is often rerouted to the upper L tracks as they reconstruct some of the subway stations - generally if you're rerouted to the elevated tracks in one direction, you can turn around after the diversion and go the other way on the subway. So, if you're at Fullerton and you get diverted to the upper L tracks to Roosevelt, you can turn around at Roosevelt and take the subway, as normal, northbound back to Fullerton. With the exception of Washington, which is closed for reconstruction. :P

From 11pm this evening until 1am Monday morning the Red Line will be rerouted to the elevated tracks around the Loop, and will make stops along that line. The CTA is providing alternate shuttle bus service.

the CTA has taken the Washington Station offline for construction until the fall of 2008; they are also doing major rehab and reconstruction of the Fullarton and Belmont stops which is slowing trains especially during rush hours...that's all....plus your normal railwork.

hey...you have to fix these stations and tracks SOMETIME...we are all spoiled by our subway service; you should try NYC sometime....stations are closed and no one is even told....you just get off and get lost...
