I measured myself on a bra size calculater. It says I'm a 34AA. I'm in 8th grade. I was wondering if you think I should have a bra by the time I get into highschool? I really dont want to ask my mom for one until the summer, because I made so many requests this month (deodorent and makeup). I was thinking of asking during the summer before school. If I maintane about teh same size (34AA) should I get a bra? Will I go up to an A by school or at least another size in the AA's? I want one because I feel uncomfortable without one. I wear camisoles right now, but they are much support and very thin

You're size doesn't matter. if you feel uncomfortable without one, then you should have one. Your mother shouldn't limit you to only one hygenic product at a time. tell her that when it gets cold at school everyone makes fun of you. that should do it.

You must be about 14 years old. Yes, get a bra, even if it's just an athletic bra ( you know, the kind you pull over your head like a shirt but it's a bra ). Most every other girl is wearing them by your age and just because you aren't the size of Dolly Pardon doesn't mean you should go without one. I'm a 34C and am known to sometimes wear my bathing suit top under my tee shirt in the summer. you can do that too. By all means, ask your mom for a bra. She was a 14 year old girl once too.
If cost is the issue, get a summer job, like babysitting or mowing grass or clean the neighbors house...

Sorry but no one will be able to tell you if you will go up a size or not. Some girls grow quickly in that area and other maintain their A size throughout their adult life. It all depends on the person. Only time will tell. You should really talk to your mom about this and let her know you are uncomfortable. They make bras for your size that have a little cushion in it. I am not talking about the push up bras but bras that have padding in them so that you wan't look as flat since your uncomfortable about it. Another piece of advice...don't worry about this kind of stuff. Focus on your school work and getting good grades so that you may have a successful life and all the other stuff will come. Good luck to you dear.

Based on what you have said about the camisoles being not very good support and also thin it's time to get a bra now.
I started wearing a bra at age 11.
I don't think your mom will get mad at you for letting her know that you need to get a bra. Just let her know that you are having problems with the camisoles.
You can check places like Wal-Mart for bras that are reasonably priced.

You should still ask your mom for one anyways, this isn't something you want, this is something you need. You should at the very least be in a training bra, regardless of how small you are now. There is no way for anyone to really know if you will get bigger breasts or not...although I would say there is a pretty good chance that you will as you get older. If you don't start wearing a bra now, then they will only sag more as they get bigger. Bras are necessities for women and you should not feel bad asking your mom for one.

Your soon going to be in highschool. I'd suggest, go for one. If your shopping with your mom, walk past the bra section with her and say something like "Mom, I think i need a bra, do you think we should get one?" So yes, get a bra either way, doesnt matter if your thin or there isnt support, I've been an A cup i dont know.. forever, and I wear one, so dont worry any size or shape!! Your mom will understand.

I am 20 years old and I wear a 34A maybe 32B and I was a 34AA in 5th grade. In the 5th grade I didn't need and bra but I wanted one. If you want to feel more comfortable in your clothes then definitly ask your mother to take you bra shopping. Who knows, yourt breasts may grow very quickly up to a B by the fall. You can;t really predict your bra size but a good predictor is your mother. Ask her how fast her's grew.

As a mom myself I think it would be a good idea to talk to your mom about this, even if you have made a few (or even a lot) of requests this month if you let her know you are wondering if you need a bra, that way she can plan for it in the family budget and maybe even help remeasure you (as the self measurement is not usually the most accurate) sometimes we moms need a heads up on whats on your mind
good luck

At your age, it is very normal to be wearing a bra. I would go ahead and talk to your Mother, as a bra is a basic necessity for a young lady who is in the 8th Grade and for all women. I am sure she will understand. Trust your Mother. Explain to her why you're feeling uncomfortable when not wearing a bra. This is not a luxury item that you're asking for.

If you feel uncomfortable without a bra ask your mom, i'm sure she will be pleased that you came to her. You and your mom could use the girlie shopping trip out as an excuse for bonding. You should go to some where like victoria secrets as they measure and do nice things for firsts time gals. And remeber don't be embaressed as your mom will have went through the same thing...
Good luck

I felt the same way babe. right before 9th grade my chest basically exploded into a b cup. You can save some money up yourself and go to a wal-mart or someplace and get some for likr...5-10 dollars. camisoles arent the best in my opinion. if you really want anice bra with a little bit of support, go to victoria's secret: yes they are pricy but they last a while=] good luck sweetie
