if we learn the most from our own mistakes then why do people advise us against making them?

I know as a mother I would because that is my job and I dont want to see my kids get hert.....:)_ I advise others against making mistakes so in hopes it will be one less mistake they have to learn from!:)_

Because they don't want us to get hurt in the process of learning from these mistakes....they would prefer if we don't get hurt...and learn from their experience...rather than getting hurt and feeling pain....

Also, there are some people who don't care if you learn or not, they just don't want you to make a mistake!!! like someone's boss for example!!!!

Because certain mistakes can be very painful, and lead us down the path of destruction.. Sometimes we get so overwhelmed with it, that it's hard to get back up and you can get stuck in a downward spiral....
