For the same reason that a cup of coffee says "Caution: Contents May Be Extremely Hot" some freaking bonehead probably sued.

"Duh, I can take sleeping pills after dinner, then go out for a few hours, I'll sleep when I get home"

Why do hairdryers have a warning not to use it in the shower? Or curling irons warning that they shouldn't be used in bed? Or that fast food coffee has the warning "Contents May Be Hot?"

same reason the Surgeon General Warning is on cigarettes - may cause cancer etc.
They must put these notices on things to avoid lawsuits

lol, for those idiots who will try to sue because it made them drowsy and they got in a accident or something they can say well yea they were sleeping pills but they didn't tell me its causes drowsiness you can never be to cautious
