So her father called her a pig. He meant as in piggish (look it up). Maybe she is. The point being, why should name calling be detrimental for life? Maybe that is why there are so many lawsuits in the USA. Everyone is so thin-skinned.

Like should Imus' statement have scarred smart, skilled young woen for life? Please.

That is just ignorant! I take it that you have a loving caring supportive family that has never said one thing to you that hurt you??? Think about it.. if your dad said stuff like that to you, how would you HONESTLY feel.
I don't think this has anything to do with America!

I agree that some people need stronger self esteem and let stupid unnecessary things have a large impact on their lives but that's their business, we have not lived their lives or gone thru what they have so we really have no right commenting on how they can be permenatly scarred and thin skinned as u call it. How can u group a whole country in that area? What if i said why is everybody from where the hell ever u r from, so cold hearted and uncaring? Would that describe u and all of your country accurately or am i just making assumptions on little info?

We have a lot of "sensitive" people in this country. By and far it seems okay to say anything about white people and Christians, but anybody else you're just not politically correct. Why is this? Black's and Hispanic's call White people by racist names all the time on TV and songs--Why is this politically correct? Don't say anything about Jews, Muslims, Hindu, Buddist or many other or you may get sued or lose you job. I once applied for a job for which I was well qualified for, but I was told the job had to go to a Black person ( that was when I was called in to see if I would train the new man).

Are you joking?? You cannot be for real. You would have to be the most insensitive, unfeeling, unlovable wretch in the world. You sound like a person who enjoys pulling wings off butterflies for kicks! Feelings run very deep, you do not have to throw stones or use razor blades to hurt people. Words although not a physical threat, can hurt someone very much. Especially children. I am amazed that anyone would make such comments. Please if this is something you can't understand, than build yourself a deep, deep hole and stay there, we don't need more people like you roaming the earth

I am an American and I think Imus kicks ***. You are right about the fact that it should not scar those women for life! But you are sadly mistaken about Americans being so sensitive. It is our damn attorneys and most of my race who are so jacked about all these comments.

As for Baldwin, who cares? He is on the fast track to irrelevance and no one will even remember him in about 5 years.

If you would have really listened to what those college players said, you would know that it didn't scar them. They were more pissed off about being called hoes, than anything. I have been called a lot of names, and I am okay, why make an assumption that we are all thinned skinned.

I'm sure that there are idiots in all countries. Some people have forgotten how to raise their kids right is all, or they never knew how to begin with. There are so many lawsuits in the U.S. because people get away with it. I think that people need to learn how to grow up and get a life.

We Americans are very thin skinned. That is why therapy is a billion dollar industry here.

Baldwin was wrong but get over it people! Kim aws horrible to play it in public. THAT is scarring.

Hey Betty W. How about telling us where you are before I give a dissation on the decline of the American people when it comes to race, feelings and how finger pointing has become an art?

Name calling shows a lack of respect for the person being spoken to. It's a cheap, childish way of 'arguing' or making a point.
