They should-but mostly, they won't. This was a great program on PBS about the media leading up to the war. The media has changed and we need to break our dependence on them. There are many great websites that pull out the really important stories from the wires(which mainstream media put on a back page). Wire stories(AP, etc. can be and are edited all the time. Those Fox viewers think they're getting the story but important truths are deleted. Check out Rawstory.com, Commoncause, the Huffington Post, Democracy Now, Daily Kos. I just saw something about Andrea Mitchell, out & out lying on MSNBC. You can see that here-it's very short.

The media didn't lead the country to war. That was a government decision. But the media has been at fault for creating much of the Anti-American sentiment, glorifying protestors, ignoring our fallen soldiers, and treating things just as deplorably as they did during Vietnam. They aren't reporting the good things that are happening. Amazingly, the PBS news is the only one I can give real credit to, they have a moment of silence and post fallen soldiers at the end of their newscast every single day.

The media is the lapdog of government and the military-industrial complex. You can always rely on it to toe the line of the rich. Fortunately, now we have the internet to offset the mainstream media's lies and obfuscations, and that helps some. What we need is a media that is not tied to the bottom line. A media that has to make money is never going to be free.

yes, perhaps they were too trusting. Profits and just getting your story done so you can go home hapened to investigative journalism.

Also producers and profits, we were mixed with war frenzy and ambivilance in the begining. Anyone who showed what might be percieved as lack of sympathy for 9/11 was called a terrorist or traitor, so it was difficult to speak up especially if you want to keep a general audience.

The media should just blow themselves up! It's hard to find good un-biased, investigative journalism these days.

No. The media does wield tremendous influence, but it's still the choice of Congress to declare war or not.

Just hope tand pray hey'd suffer their own consequences of guilt in the eyes of God and face bad karma, if they know they are guilty of having manipulated lies to deceve the American Public. There's nothing else we can do legally!

Contrary to what the media and democrats think the media is not another branch of government. I guess we will just blame everyone except the terrorists.
