I think the question is, how many people can fit on Earth and live comfortably at the same time. In my opinion I think that the Earth could take about 6 billion more people and that's it. In the cities of Japan and China the people already live like pack rats. Most of the current densly populated areas of the world will have to be filled for this to happen. I think that the United States population should never excede 1 billion, if it does, I don't want to be around to see it because I don't want to be living on top of other people in small apartments.
