I had several days in a row like that until it registered that the floral scented shampoo I had just switched to days before was attracting bees. It seemed like the very same bee following me for days...every time I would walk out of my house. After switching shampoos to something non-floral, it stopped happening.
Whenever that happens to you, think about what scents you may have on you that could be attracting it. Then you can decide if you want to stop wearing that scent or if you want to stay attractive to bees.
Of course my boyfriend would tell you like he tells many others that a bee started following him 8 years ago and hasn't left his side since. (You'd have to realize that my name, Deb, means bee to understand that joke.)

My hair colouring attracts bees. I'm allergic to bee stings so I feel some anxiety when they are around, so this gives off some scent that also attracts them. So my answer is a resounding : OFTEN!!!

You know what they say, one day you're the dog, the next day you're the hydrant.
