i take echinacea in liquid form not tablets, and yes it will affect your contraceptive pill hunny,so you must be very careful and use extra contraceptive precautions. when are your exams as this herbal product can take up to a month before you feel the benefits from it. my health visitor informed me that sometimes it can actually take up to 3 months in some cases to work. if your still in doubt you can ring nhs direct where they will be able to give you the right advice that you need. best of luck for your exams hunny. xx

Brie Your health is primary concern. Your mum got you echinacea to boost your immune system to stop you getting infections during exams - so you can do PAIN-FREE exams! That's a hel-o-a-cool mum. How did you find a mum that does Logic & Love? My 16yr ol did exams with a nasty cold last year (he cried a lot)... this year he WILL consume Echinacea. He is not arguing, he has learned, he will consume anything if it will stop pain during exams) Many sports people, e.g. footballers, boxers, wrestlers, jockeys, etc, do NOT have sex before an event, because the event (your exams) are the primary current concern. If you must have sex just now... use condoms (same or better than pills), but remember the major contenders do not have sex because they save all energy & strength & vitality. You can go 3wks without sex. Use sexual energy to make yourself more passionate about exams & your right & need to pass them. Or... why should you take a hormone pill that affects your mental copacity, just to let males off the hook, especiallt when you are doing exams. Do you want to take a pill that gives all the males in your class an advantage over you, becaudse you are chemically controlled? Please, keep taking Echinacea that your mum got you, because your Priority at this second, in your long life, is these exams & your mum wants you to be pain free during them. To sit exams with infection = pain. Your mum is wise (Echinacea - sit exams - no pain) Go with this. It only lasts 1 month, then you are free to do your thing again. Do it. Get good clean exams. Enjoy being the best you can be. Secretly smile to yourself that you have a parent who cares You will do well, because you are loved You will be well & healthy throughout exams You will do well Aber :)

Yes it will.

The following drugs could interfere with the effectiveness of your birth control: Various antibiotics, Echinacea, and St. John's Wort. Always check with your health care provider before beginning any new herb, vitamin, or medication.
