Any gift in a box that is wrapped! They can have balloons attached, but flowers may seem a bit feminine to him, so no flowers. I think candy is also a good idea or cookies.

Neither. Balloons are too childish and guys usually don't appreciate flowers like girls. Get him a gift certificate for a store he likes or take him out for something to eat.

I like the idea of balloons in a bouquet-style presentation!
Or a potted plant in bloom
And something for the director/producer. In high school, they often get forgotten, so flowers for them is a great idea.
