Jordan you're talkin about the Sports Illustrated cover...the EA sports one hasn't had any "curse" related to players on it...look at guys who have appeared on it who've had excellent careers and were at the peak when they were on it...Tim hardaway, Mitch Ritchmond, Antoine walker (with the celtics), kg, francis, kidd, carter, melo, wade, t-mac (shouldn't have been him)

Being on the cover of EA sports NBA live game doesn't mean anything at all to the players, only to fans. That's why it's all just a marketing thing, and obviously EA sports thought that for how much they would have to pay the king to get him on their cover, they might as well get Gilbert for a lot less. I mean Lebron is a better overall player, but Arenas is a star too, and he deserves to be on the cover just as much as the next superstar. Also, some talk about the EA sports curse after the year they are on the cover....but that's a different story.

That's a really good point! I bet that happens in football too. After being on the 06 madden cover, Mcnabb got a season ending knee injury in the middle of the season. Sean Alexander also got hampered by injuries after he was on the 07 cover, and had a very underachieving year for him. And then there was Vince Young, who wasn't even close to matching his 06-07 season.

I could care less about who is on the cover of any game.
But in the end, all this is about is Gilbert Penis promoting himself. Instead of helping or supporting what's left of his Wizards team to even win 1 game against the Cavs. He goes into hiding and then when he holds a press conference, all he does is talk about himself. What a selfish and obnoxious asshole! You a not only a penis, you are also an anus. Caron Butler is 100X better a teammate and a bigger man than you are, you punk ***.

Arenas is a bonafide player in the league. That's why. You can't blame a guy for being injured, besides, the Cavs aren't knocking the Wizards off by too many points a night and they don't even have a man who usually racks up 30-40 a game.

It is probably a lot cheaper to get Arenas than James. Tomlinson turned down the cover of Madden 07. Lebron is undeniablely the bigger star, but Arenas is no slouch and I think would cost a great deal less.

Wade was on 2006 and he got hurt which will cost the repeat effort. In the NFL Alexander made a cover last year and everyone knows what an unalexander season he had.
