The hive was built under my chimney cap & the bees were entering my home through the flue so I built a fire to smoke them out. Will they return? If so, how do I prevent it?

that would depend on how long you smoked them out for. If it was for an hour probably not, but if it wasn't for very long, the smoke may not keep them out, but to prevent them from coming back get rid of the hive and keep an eye out if they return and use bee spray to kill them.

Good luck!

they probably wont die if they were all burned to death. if they weren't i'd say that they would return because all the smoke does is stun them. have you ever seen a beekeeper tend a hive? they use smoke to stun the bees so they wont get stung. it doesnt kill the bees.
