89+96+96+85=366
for a 92 average after the next test you will need 92*5=460 points
460-366=94. You need a 94% on the next test.

Taking 92 as the desired average and calculating the difference of that with the existing scores, we get
-3 + 4 + 4 - 7 = -2
So we need a +2 to make it 0 and get 92 as the average of 5 scores. So, you need a 94 score. Best of luck.

(89+96+96+85+X)/5 = 92
multiply both sides by 5 and add together the numbers to get
366 + X = 460 solve by subtracting by 366
so you need a 94

89+96+96+85+x=366+x
(366+x)/5=92
366+x=460
x=94
so therefore, you would have to make a 94 on your next test to have a 92% average.
p.s. if this is a math test ur about to take, i dont think a 94 is ANYWHERE within expectations.....but best of luck anyways!

You would have to get a 92 or better. Even a 91 would average out to only 91.4. Depending on how rigid your teacher is with grading, that 91 would not suffice.

0.92=(0.89+0.96+0.96+0.85+X) / 5
0.92=(3.66+X) / 5
0.92=0.732+X / 5
0.92-0.732=X / 5
0.188=X / 5
0.188 * 5 = X
X = 0.94 or 94%
