The girl working the counter late last night at the McDonald's on Bearss in Tampa.
After the manager had sent everyone home but a small skeleton crew, the store got barraged by two buses coming home after a track meet. The girl at the counter was obviously quite agitated by the fact that she had been selected to be abused in order for the store to save a few bucks on labor. Of course, in the back of her mind, she already knew that the job is low-paying crap and that, as such, she is abused every day she works. But after waiting on the first bus load of athletes and with the store in utter chaos as the second bus load arrived, she promptly announced to the manager that she quit and walked out of the store. If we had more people like her, labor wouldn't be getting screwed over everywhere.

My father. He worked had all of his life and was successful at his chosen field. He has always stayed true to his own beliefs even when he was in the minority. He married my mother at a young age and they have stayed together for 50 years without ever having any major arguments. He continues to be an example that I can only hope to some day be close to that good.

I don't actually have a hero yet. Right now my hero would be a liberal minded, non-smoking woman under 40, that isn't religious who would be willing to give me a chance as a possible girlfriend or life mate.

My grandfather: WW2 fighter pilot, business leader and parent of 8
My 6 year old son is a close second. A very good natured kid, who had a serious injury last year and was as brave as any adult I've ever seen. Greatest little boy in the world!
