He lives 3 hours away and is being a huge jerk about it. I believe that his interest-free loan ended when he cheated on me.

Do you have documentation that he owes you the money? A note, and email, something he signed? Does it have repayment terms on it that he hasn't met? Has he paid you anything on it?

Did anyone witness that it was a loan and not a gift?

If you can prove it, you can take him to small claims court and get a judgement against him. However, even if you have documentation that he owes you money, if he's still paying you every month, and hasn't missed paying, then the fact that you loaned him money interest free is your problem. You can't "rewrite" the conditions of a loan just because he made you angry.

You should seek a lawyer about this. Or look up the small claims court in your area. I do hope that you have evidence of the loan, like some sort of signed agreement. If not sorry to say but its going to be hard to prove in a court that you actually leant him the money.. and if your ex wants to be a jerk about it.

Good luck

My guess is you probably wont' get it back, unless you take take him to small claims court, and the fees for that will probably be more than the amount you loaned him, but it's up to you. I've never lent anyone more than $100; simply for this reason =) Good luck!

i do no longer understand why you broke up along with your ex boyfriend contained in the 1st place? simply by fact he's broke? via that good judgment if he dealt with you the comparable he would have in no way gotten with you considering your economic undertaking is undesirable to boot. money isn't each little thing. purely stay no longer costly. in case you purely make $20,000 a year, spent $18,000 a year and keep something for a wet day. i'd say date your boyfriend yet once you're rather worried approximately having to assist him, do exactly no longer stay with him. for sure you 2 love eachother and make eachother chuffed. there's a reason you dumped your husband, and you will desire to no longer be with him simply by fact he has a reliable activity, it somewhat is purely gold digging. Set a sturdy occasion to your daughter and practice her to love a guy for the content textile of his character, and not his wallet.

do you have a contract with him to pay it back? if so, take him to small claims court with that contract and milk him dry. if you dont have a contract, then you've been had. consider him your 1500 dollar mistake. sorry, but those are your only two options. ex's rarely repay their debts, especially if the relationship ended on a sour note.

Kick his butt...cause you will never see the money again! You might think that paying you back would be the right thing to do, but if he is a huge jerk, forget it!
