Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune is the order. Poor Pluto is now in limbo (not an official planet).

Venus is slightly smaller than the earth but its atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide and its surface temperature is very high due to the green house effect of carbon dioxide. It appears very bright due to the reflection of sunlight from the clouds of carbond dioxide.
