That the dumbes thing anyone could say because LBJ is even better that Kobe yet… And he can’t do what Jordan could do and that is have the ability to shout down you best player and LBJ does not even check the opposing team best player so he has a long way to go to be consider even almost in MJ league

NO! Michael is referred to as the best because he revolutionized the guard position into what we have today. He came out of retirement the first time and was better than the entire league and the second time was still better than 95% of the league. He is the most competitive player to play in the league and he also dominated his entire career. Even when he was with the Wizards at 40 he still schooled guys half his age. Yes Lebron will go down as one of the greatest but Mike is the reason why guys like Lebron, Kobe etc. do what they do. The game was dominated by big men for years until Jordan changed that and as we all know guards have dominated ever since. Also remember that he was not expected to be nowhere near as great as he was. Jordan was the game's greatest finisher and the only one who comes close today is Kobe. He also was the centerpiece of a team that went 72-10 (the best record in NBA history) in the 1995-96 season. The list goes on and on. Not to be rude, but the fact of the matter is Mike has already been put into the position as the greatest because of the simplest fact that he is the greatest. Hell freezing over would not change that.

Your question is directed more towards:
MJ in his prime vs. Lebron in his prime(hasn't come yet).
Lebron is tremendously talented, and he is going to get even better. Lebron James is only 22 years old. Over the next 14-20 years, the amount of people thinking MJ is still the best will decline greatly.
But the problem is that those who remember MJ for who he is, is probably dying. Wilt Chamberlain played well before my time, and I read and hear about his heroics and greatness, but I never witnessed it. I don't feel it. So when they compare Kobe's scoring spree to Chamberlain's, I feel that Kobe is much better and Chamberlain had it easy being a 10ft tall playing against 6ft midgets.
And by you calling Michael "Mike Jordan," I think his reign ended before you can really appreciate basketball.
Please don't take any offense, I don't mean to insult you in any way. I am merely saying, people favor players depending on the greatness they have witnessed. And if Jordan is to be dethroned, I think it is only because as time goes by, his legend will only be passed on by stories.
I think it's best to not compare people from different eras with the intention of deciding who is better.
Anyways...
1) MJ will always be MJ
2) GOOO KOBE!!!! GOOO LAKERS!!!!
3) Good luck to Lebron James, the rising star. Apparently many people feel he will be replacing some people, and those shoes aren't easy to fill.

people forgot about bill russell when doc , magic and bird came around, people forget them when mentioning MJ and people will forget MJ too in time because he will be (is) history... stop with the MJ shrine and try to appreciate the younger players for what they are...too bad that some supposed superstars have done nothing to deserve their status (some have poor fundamentals, and have never led their teams to titles or made those around them better...) even worse that some very good athletes in the league have such poor attitudes...only people who watched basketball the last 40 or so years understand what bill russell did is unparalleled in basketball leading a college team to two consecutive titles and a 55 game win streak, leading a team to olympic gold before turning pro, then 11 titles in 13 years which would have been 12 had he not gotten an ankle injury in one finals series, and all this in a time where blacks couldnt room or eat with their white teammates...so highly revered that he was made the first black coach in ANY major american sport, in a city like boston no less...do you think MJ or any of the others could have put up with all the abuse that went along with that? That and the Magic, Bird era although getting old they schooled teams MJ was on, he got his but lost in the playoffs to these aging teams and superstars...in an era where a handful of teams would always get back to the finals or deep in the playoffs, not like the talent thin era Mike played in, who was MJs main rival...the Knicks??? please...dont tell me they were as competitive as the Laker teams who played in 9 finals and played a Boston and 76er team who won 4 titles combined...these were title winning teams with heart, not some team like the Jazz, or the Ewing/Starks Knicks...the league was thin when Mike played...

Until he has 6 rings, shoes that people will literally kill for, and he retires to play minor league baseball, and his 1st game back he scores 50 in the Garden, No we will not forget MJ.
Lebron is a great all around player, and I think possibly even more talented than MJ physically. Mentally when Jordan played the Bulls were already up 10 pts, just by MJ being in your head.
To quote a Spike Lee commercial (Mars Blackmon). Is it the shoes? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To answer your question NO!!!!!!!
I still want to be like Mike . He is the greatest !

NO, Lebron isn't even as good as KOBE. Just look at the numbers and you can see that. I think that KOBE is the closest thing we have to JORDAN, not Lebron. Jordan can never be replaced. He was ahead of his time, as you can see because we still don't have anyone else like him. People will be talking about Jordan until the end of time, or until Kobe scores more than 100 in one game. (he already hit 80)

Absolutely NOT!
Lebron James is a great athlete, no doubt. Will he ever eclipse His Royal Airness? No.
Michael Jordan had just about everything you want from a player. He was that key leader any team needs, he had the scoring for sure, and he was very skilled with his defense as well. No way James ever reaches Jordan's level, and passes it.

Somebody will dethrone Michael someday, but it won't be Lebron. Don't get me wrong, Lebron is very good, but there are already questions about his commitment. Like somebody said a few answers up he's not the best in the game right now, maybe not even second. People are far too quick to annoint people, draw ridiculous comparisons. Let's just wait until he gets to about year 8 or 9, then we'll have perspecitve.

Time is the only thing that makes people forget. People that grew up watching Wilt Chamberlain think he was the greatest ever. Same with Michael Jordon and as it will be with Lebron James and with whoever comes after him. That is what makes sports fun to discuss.

Only people that didn't get to see MJ play would say that...Because Michael is the BEST ever and will always be. The NBA would be nothing if Mike didn't do what he did.
