I have been taking a medication that messes with the effectiveness of birth control pills for about 8 months. I've been off of the pill for about two months and am TTC. The pills were supposed to give me a cycle of 28 days (though I spotted almost all month). After getting off the pill, the first month's cycle was 26 days. TODAY is day 29 of the next cycle. I want to take a test bad, but I don't want to waste my money. What are the chances of getting a false negative? I figured I would start today... but no signs at all.

Give yourself about a week. The chances of a false negative on the first day your miss your period are still pretty high. I know the boxes say they are accurate, but often they are not.

Its best time to test is the day you miss your period. But I know from personal experience that some womens positive result takes longer to show up, My pregnancy with my son didnt show up till 2 weeks after my missed period. Good luck

You need to wait 2 more weeks past your period date for an accurate result.
