*** Make sure you buy the correct type of RAM ***
1) Power down computer
2) Disconnect power cord
3) Remove side panel
4) Remove RAM currently in PC *unclips on each end*
5) Take with you to buy upgrade so you can be sure to get the same type and speed
6) Put original RAM back into slot.
7) Put new RAM in extra slot *most will have*
8) Replace cover and power cord
9) Reboot
10) If you get a beep error... you got the wrong RAM
11) Go to Control Panel... System to verifying it is reading the extra RAM.

all these answers are good but if you have more than one slot put the larger of the ram cards in the slot where the existing card is (this is the primary slot) and put the old card in the second slot. This will give you both cards and totally reset your memory to default thus giving you some more memory back ! Good Luck !

With the PC off, open cover and insert into slot.
Some computers, when booted, will come up with a message telling you the amount of memory has changed and asking to press a key to confirm the change.

Unplug the computer, and take the cover off. . Then put the RAM in very gently (easily broken). . . . put cover back on, and start it up. . If you have Windows XP, it will automatically detect it.

You might crash your computer tryien to do it i recomend you going to target cuircut city or your computer company location . Oh and make sure u have the riht RAM memory for your computer or else u crash it .
