well i am only 16 in high school, but i am thinking about what careers i could do that deal with music when i am older.

i know a significant amount of stuff about music because i listen and read a lot every day.

just wondering what kinds of jobs there are and what would i have to do to get that occupation?

Radio DJ
work at a recording company (i.e. Columbia..)
Journalist for Rolling Stone or similar magazine
Musician
DJ at a dance club/private functions (i.e. weddings)
Journalist for a www or newspaper - doing reviews of concerts/new music etc..
Work for/become a concert promoter

If your highly opinionated I'd recommend going the journalist route. Get a degree in English or journalism, work in the schools student activity clubs to get yourself established. If you go to the right school (any large university) there will be big name acts coming on campus all the time. You could get direct contact with the industry via this method.

you could become a sort of specialist journalist and write for a music magazine. your knowledge would come in handy and you would enjoy the job because you'd travel to meet musicians and see concerts etc... you'd probably have to be good at english to do this.
