here are some foods are high in fibre and may help you, my mother in law has IBS, and this type of diet took away almost all of her symptoms
BREAD Whole wheat bread, granola bread, wheat bran muffins, Nutri-Grain® waffles, popcorn
CEREAL Bran Flakes®, Raisin Bran®, Shredded Wheat®, Frosted Mini Wheats®, oatmeal, Muslix®, granola, oat bran All-Bran®, Bran Buds®, Corn Bran®, Fiber One®, 100% Bran®
VEGETABLES Beets, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, corn, green beans, green peas, acorn and butternut squash, spinach, potato with skin, avocado
FRUITS Apples with peel, dates, papayas, mangos, nectarines, oranges, pears, kiwis, strawberries, applesauce, raspberries, blackberries, raisins Cooked prunes, dried figs
MEAT SUBSTITUTES Peanut butter, nuts Baked beans, black-eyed peas, garbanzo beans, lima beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, chili with beans, trail mix

i cut out anything fatty greasy or with milk and moved to more organic foods. try soy milk or rice milk, you can get calcium this way. there is also imitation cheese made by veggie shreds that you can have instead of milk produced cheese. also try "O Soy" yogurt, Giant Eagle has a lot of great stuff there, and also try some natural foods stores in your area.
I also tried to cut back on red meat and replace it with chicken and fish. i find that eating more wheat breads whenever i eat something greasy helps to ease my stomache.

I've had IBS for 30 years hon, ask your doctor for Bentyl, it can be taken over the long term and works wonders with IBS.
