Since everytime something goes wrong, its always someone else's fault. From the Veterans hospital in Washington to the Abu Garaib torture chambers, its never the administration's fault. Why is that?

They never have been. That is just another one of the lies they tell to get votes from the gullible.

Dude, what? was Bush there in abu garaib? No.
Was clinton at fault when the chinese embassy was bombed by our fighters? What about when we lost F-117 because the same strategy was used over and over and over? That is directly under the prez, unlike the people in abu graib.
And the VA has been like this for years, and Clinton had 8 years to change it.
When you start a new job, do they blame you for the old guys mistakes? No, thats why he doesnt have the job anymore.
Just like democrats lost the job after 8 years of constant problems.

I think the days of “the buck stops here” are pretty much over. Everyone is a victim of someone in the other party. I misspelled this answer because it did not correct the spelling correctly……..

We need to get America past the pointing business and into the stand up and take your lumps because you have them coming business. We are too partisan for that currently and until there is a clear cut referendum, I don’t see it changing. I suspect 2008 may be that referendum if whoever loses can be graceful and take it like a man/woman should.

no one has ever argued where the buck stops. if an employee at your company screws up, its still your company, but you have to fix the problem. accepting the responsibility is obvious. you would rather just hear him say "i am responsible for the actions of those below me", than find whose actions cased this problem and re-train, replace, and/ or (in criminal cases) prosecute those whose personal decisions made the problem in the first place? you don't want the problem fixed, you want to talk about the problem (obviously in abu grahib's case- for years!), and never find a solution.

you have no desire for these serious problems to be fixed, only to use them as attack fuel for your personal agenda against the current administration.

neither of the problems you mentioned was the president's fault - both are his responsibility.

Genuine conservatives aren't the ones running the GOP--butrather, right-wing extremists. And such people--who have a mindless adherance to an ideology, rather than clearly held and reasoned convictions--are unable to admit they--or their leaders--can do any wrong. So, anything that does go wrong msut be somebody else's fault. And--of course--that means anyone who has the temerity do disagree with their pronouncements.

And in a sense--they're right. They demandthat reality cconform to their fantasies. And reality just won't co-operate! lol

In the philosophical sense that individuals are responsible for making thier own way in the world, and that only those who actually do wrong should be held accountable for it, sure. That ideal informs much conservative policy in economics, social programs, and support for the rule of law.

However, as political parties are, perforce, made up of politicians, there can be no party of 'personal responsibility' in the sense of actually standing up and voluntarilly admitting your own flaws and failures. That's integrity. You don't get anywhere in politics if you're suffering from integrity.

Are you on pot? Idiot, do you honestly believe putting panties on a prisoner's head in Abu Garaib is torture? And the Veterans hospital in DC is not as bad as the libs make it sound. They exaggerate it to try to reck the Bush house. Right away, you assume everything the libs say. whatever.

Someone else's fault? It seems to me that EVERYTHING is blamed on Bush. I don't agree with everything he has done, but he certainly isn't a dictator that has single-handedly been the one to blame for every single thing that has happened in this country in the past 6 years.

you have people living in denial, can't be their fault, they cannot hear what American's want...and they do not care. They just want to help the rich be richer

Hmm, now I thought we claimed responsibility for our part but the Democrats never claim responsibility. Hmmmm.....

Now in reality...we know it goes both ways.
