With the technology we have now, no. We would need to be able to construct a base or a craft at the North or South pole of mercruy and have a renewable food source and a renewable oxygen source.

Depends on how long you want to "survive". It's not true to say that Mercury doesn't have gravity. It does, and it's approximately twice that of the moon, which we've already walked on. Discussions are already underway in some countries to put an unmanned lander on Mercury much as we did with Mars. And while there are temperatures ranging from extremely hot to extremely cold, you don't just move from one to the other instantaneously. There are geographical pockets, such as near the poles. on the border of night and day, where temperatures are more moderate and livable. And Mercury barely rotates (a day there is like half a year on Earth), so the temps in these areas would be stable for long periods. It's also believed that ice exists on Mercury in craters near the poles. So yes, I think that it's possible with the right technology, plus an oxygen supply and food, to keep someone alive for a certain period of time. But I'm talking in minutes, hours, or days. Beyond that, I couldn't say. The biggest dangers to life may be x-rays and other forms of radiation.

NO, plain and simple. First of all Mercury has no water, and without water we die. Mercury is too close to the Sun and has no gravity, so any water we would bring will float away and evaporate very rapidly. There is no atmosphere to protect us from the Sun's heat, or to keep us warm at night; as a result, daytime temperatures average about 660 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime temperatures are about -279 degrees Fahrenheit.

No way, mercury is one of the poisonous metals. I'm absolutely sure of it. Leave it alone.

Not with present technology. Maybe with some far advanced technology in the distant future, but today we could never survive there.

I believe they could but they would be hard pressed to be shielded from the sun's heat
