There are two ways to handle the situation. You could kill yourself, or you could kill everyone else.

Until you find a place where you can live in total seclusion, you just need to limit the amount of contact you MUST have. It's not so much evasion as it is avoidance.

I know, I stopped going to concerts, fair, and other large gatherings for that very same reason. I can get along with just about any person but when they are all put together, they become an anonymous entity that I just can't deal with. So now I just sit at home and rant and rave on Yahoo! Answers.

My guess is that you are not as intolerant as you would have us believe. Remember, that friends and family are members of "the human race".

ask yourself if you are a part of the race you claim to no longer be able to tolerate, ie, the human race. if you are not human, then you must cope as best you can, if you intend to live with the humans. if you are human, and you find you cannot tolerate the human race, that would mean that you cannot tolerate yourself. that would be a sad state of affairs.

i am, myself, slowly learning how to tolerate the human race.

I think of this song:
"We Can Run But We Can't Hide"
Words by John Perry Barlow; music by Brent Mydland, performed by The Grateful Dead

We don't own this place, though we act as if we did,
It's a loan from the children of our children's kids.
The actual owners haven't even been born yet.

But we never tend the garden and rarely we pay the rent,
Some of it is broken and the rest of it is bent
Put it all on plastic and I wonder where we'll be when the bills hit.

[Chorus:]
We can run,
But we can't hide from it.
Of all possible worlds,
We only got one:
We gotta to ride on it.
Whatever we've done,
We'll never get far from what we leave behind,
Baby, we can run, run, run, but we can't hide.
Oh no, we can't hide.
I'm dumpin' my trash in your back yard
Makin' certain you don't notice really isn't so hard....
You're so busy with your guns and all of your excuses to use them.
Well, it's oil for the rich and babies for the poor,
We got everyone believin' that more is more,
If a reckoning comes, maybe we will know what to do then.
[Bridge:]
All these complications seem to leave no choice,
I heard the tongues of billions speak with just one voice,
Saying, "Just leave all the rest to me,
I need it worse than you, you see."
And then I heard...
The sound of one child crying.

Today I went walking in the amber wind,
There's a hole in the sky where the light pours in.........
I remembered the days when I wasn't afraid of the sunshine.
But now it beats down on the asphalt land
Like a hammering blow from God's left hand
What little still grows cringes in the shade like a bad vine.

Generally speaking, when I can no longer take people in real-time, I go online where things are usually a bit easier...

And when online sucks too hard? Well, those are the days when I don't leave my apartment or answer my phone, as has been previously mentioned.

Avoiding Wal-Mart is definitely a good thing though. Not just for your sanity, but for humanity in general.

And just remember....if all else fails, get a Speak-n-Spell, hotwire it to your cell phone, and *Phone Home* E.T.

*heh* Great, now you watch, somebody will come up with *ringtones* from that movie....E.T. that is. ^_^

Thanks for your time!

Realize quickly that you cannot live without them. I know some days I feel like you do, but there is not much we can do about it. Sometimes a good cry works for myself. Once I have unloaded all the crap I feel much better. However if you are not much of a tearjerker do some exercises. Usually push ups, weights, and boxing work for me. It helps release all that angst.

Good Luck and I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Take a break from them... go to a far away place where you're in tune with nature and relax until you feel you can go back and face the crowds again. You do need them in your life at some point to help you grow, eg. to learn patience, and understanding, among other things.

Stay home, lock the door and don't answer the phone until I feel like dealing with them again. I have actually done that several times for a few days.

i lock myself in my room for days at a time, take vallums and cry. Then in a few days, pick myself up and get on with living again in this awful world.

You do like I do. Buy a place out in the country, surround yourself with animals and get away from it all whenever you can.

Yep, and like someone said... Avoid WalMart! :)
