If the Fuel Guage is stuck on full, but my fuel light still comes on when empty is that a guage problem?

I have a 1996 honda accord. My fuel guage is stuck at the full position, however, my fuel light comes on when the car is almost empty. I think this means that the sending unit is ok, and that it is probably just the guage. How can i tell, thanks

They run off the same wire, so it has to be a broken gauge.

Your guage itself is bad , tank sender is OK !!!!!!!!
