This is sort of a yucky question, but I'm wondering...When I cry for about 15 minutes, then blow my nose, there is often blood in my snot, accompanied with a throbbing headache. Is there any conditon or reason why there might be blood in my snot? Its happened a few times and I'm starting to get a bit worried.

Crying can raise your blood pressure and anything that's going to keep you crying for 15 minutes has got to be stressful to begin with causing another possibility for increased blood pressure. The throbbing headache also sounds potentially blood pressure related (although it could just be from your sinuses being full).
High blood pressure can lead to nose bleeds in people with shallow vasculature in their nasal passages.
Bring this problem up with your doctor and have your BP monitored regularly. It can often be controlled with diet and exercise, but there are many medications out there if you have a serious problem.

Well the throbbing headache is from your sinus's being clogged. The blood it probably nothing to be worried about but its better to err on the side of caution and check with your doctor. Or call an advice nurse.

I do know this. When you cry, everything inside tenses up. It makes capillaries burst. Therefore you get a bloody nose. More importantly, why are you crying so much? Stress can aggravate bloody noses a lot. Take care of yourself, hon. I've been through those episodes too.

I'd go to the doctor and ask about that, doesn't sound quite right... do you suffer from bloody noses often? or have really bad allergies? If so they could be part of the problem, but I'd suggest asking your doctor about it.

i heard that your mucus is slightly acidic and that's why your nose tends to be bloody.
