my husband is a welder and someone wants him to build them a steel deck..what is a steel deck?

Let me explain with an example. Take a double-decker bus though rare in a country like USA. Such a bus has lower deck and upper deck. The floor of the upper deck is usually made of steel for adequate firmness and strength. Thus it is referred to as steel deck. It is also common in ships where you may have many layers of it.
