The idea of underground music is STUPID since you can't reach any sizeable audience. You're telling me Neil Young, Ted Nugent and Zac de la Rocca spend all their money on just themselves? Check out their charity work. If you have self-respect and self-control, you can do it mainstream.

Why would anybody join a band for life's work with the intention of never making it big? You can get your message across so much better if everyone gets to hear it. Maybe change a cuss word cleverly instead of blurting it. If you hit it big, take the money then and be a role model instead of stuffing it up your nose. The art is still art if you go platinum!

Sometimes some bands are so good they can't help but to be sucked into the mainstream. Its true that some bands goals are to make money over music but then there are a lot of good bands that are still all about the music. Overall, bands still need to make some kind of living doing what they'r doing and if they make it big, they make it big, but its when they stop caring about the music thats when they just suck.

I concur for the most part. Yet, rage DID have something when they first started out. What they(and we, obviously) didn't expect was for them to enjoy the comfort of financial gain supplied by our "fascist, capitalist" government, in their own words. Maybe they did sell out. Maybe their views have changed, idk... but the bottom line is that music is no longer an artistic impression as much as it is an industry. It now belongs in stores, not museums.
