It is not in their nature. The deficit is not at record highs after you have adjusted for inflation. Nevertheless Democrats appease their constituents by promising massive spending. They can not control spending, and feel like they must raise taxes in order to get the revenue to support their social spending.

No.
The Democratic record on government spending is that they prefer to shift it from military spending to transfer payments (or 'social programs').
However, they may well reduce deficits in the short term by raising taxes, so that might be considered less 'out of control.'

Are you asserting Democrats desire to "take credit" for the deficit rises in 2009? of course they don't. in actuality the Deficit has been lowering each and in step with annum because 2009, and that's something you would be able to provide the President and Democrats credit for in some bizarro international universe.

Unfortunately, NO. Only conservatives will reduce the out-of-control spending. Note that I said CONSERVATIVES and not Republicans.
The answer by Floyd G echos my point. Conservatives were running Congress from 1994 - 2000. Around the 2000 elections, the Republicans gave up conservatism and started leaning left.

No, that was already done by the Neocon controlled Congress in giving Dubya a credit card to pay for his little war. The problem is that the bill is on its way and will be due soon. How are we going to pay the bill? Are big companies going to all chip in and bail us out, are middle class Americans going to pay out the nose while the wealthy get tax breaks? How is this going to work?

Actually, communists like pelosi and clinton are planning to increase spending. They are also planning to increase taxes. Pelosi's current plan is to almost double the taxes on a family making 50,000 per year. She has to fund her welfare state somehow.

If you go look at the progress made when President Clinton made when he was in office, you'd find that Federal spending was reigned in.
FEMA worked the way it should.
The deficit was shrinking.
But the second Bush entered office, everything went down the toilet.
I feel sorry for the children and grand children who will be paying for Bush's sins.

Government spending will be out of control whether the democrats or republican are in charge. It's always been that way and always will be.
