Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. Not in that exact order necessarily.
It's like dealing with a death for most people, takes a while to come to terms.
Wait until you're ready to leave home though if you think it'll cause issues at home. The public world can be a lot more accepting than certain households.

Don't you think you know your mom a little bit better than any of US do??! How could you expect anyone here to answer this question?
I'm not gay, and unfortunately, I'm not a mom, either. But I'll tell ya this. IF I had a kid who was gay, I would be VERY distraught by the news. My cousin has a lesbian daughter, and I just don't know how she deals with it! Some people see it as deviance and perversion, and that's just how it is.

It depends how your mom is. I have had many gay friends that didn't tell their parents and when they found out, the parents were more upset that they didn't know. But then there were some that were mad becasue they were confused. Your best bet would be to decide your moms attitude toward that area and then go from there. But break it to her gently, dont just bring home a boy and say that hes your boyfriend! I hope that this helps some.

That really depends. I don't know your mother so I cannot say how will she react. I suggest that you start a conversation and talk about how you like a certain celebrity who is known for being openly gay, and see what does she say, that's one way to see her attitude towards gay people.

She may already know. you'll never know until you tell her. make sure you have support from others so if it doesn't go well. If my kid were to tell me this i'd say great. It doesn't change who she is as a person and i wouldn't love her any less. I have gay friends and straight friends. the difference is my gay friends are like comedians and always make me laugh and we pick on each other.

I feel she would be a little upset at first, but when she has time to think about it she will accept it. You are still the same person she loves and has loved all your life. While it will may be a shock to her, she will come around.
Good Luck!

only you would know how your mom would react - it depends if she's always been open about liberal issues. If she's really conservative however, you could try breaking it to her slowly, such as asking her what her views are about same sex marriage.
