Would it be fun to see all the changes and developments in humanity and technologies etc, or would it all get a bit boring after a few thousand years? What do you all think?

I would hope to become wise and patient.
I think one would eventually become very tired and cynical.

I'd accept the offer for a thousand years though. And as a wise friend once said. I'll take eternity if I have the option to quit.

There are good and bad sides to living forever.
Some of the good things, like you said, are seeing all the new inventions, seeing how everything in the world turned out. See different changes. Have more chance or time to do things that you'vve always wanted to do.
But on top of a lot of good things there is always a bad side.
Friends and family get elderly and pass away, things close to you dissappear. The end of the world may occur and you would still be alive?!!?! =] Many good and bad sides to it. If it were up to me I would not want to live forever. But I would rather have myself go through the pain of family passing away on me verses putting my family through the pain of losing me.

technicly you wouldnt live forever as we are destroying the world slowly, also after a few million years the sun will explode meaning the earth will be over and life will end..id rather die before seeing any of that happen, can you imagine how terrible it would be knowing the earth would blow up while you were still on it!! but i supose itd be cool seeing the new inventions and stuff like that

It would be interesting and fun to see what happens in the future, development in all areas but it would be very upsetting seeing your love ones around you die while you live forever but i think in time i could adapt and just find others to give my friendship/love to. Basically, it would be cool.

Depends.
If you could likewise slow down the aging process, and be 20 or 30 forever, it would be okay, until the colective grief of everyon dying on you becomes overwhelming. Then it would be a drag.

But if your body aged correspondingly, and body parts broke down and wore out, but never died.... that would suck big time.

Our personalities, unique and programmed, cease to exist when the body dies. The energy that animated the body cannot die...in that way living does go on.

It's a little like electricity, you can turn a lamp off in a room, but the electricity is still there, unseen, and can be used again, and again, and again.....
