Because they are classics & they are (oldies stations) that's their genre & format.
Why do all the commercials use oldies songs in them? I haven't heard a new commercial jingle in years? Has it all been said & done? It seems like all the commercials use oldie songs in them because nobody can think of a decent jingle & so they try to trick the younger generation with the oldies jingles because most haven't heard these songs before.

It is because no one is writing any more old songs. They have to survive on just the oldies from those days, and that is a limited number.

Keep listening - there are new oldies every day...or maybe you have a CD of the Mamas and the Papas in the player by mistake.

I was thinking that a while ago, but recently I checked it and they were playing the Beatles, and the Guess Who, and a bunch of other 60's music! I guess it depends on the area you're in too.

In my section, that's AC/DC back In Black. that's no longer that i don't love it, yet each and each and every time you position on the dial? Out of each and every of the songs in a meant classic rock catalog? Years and years in the past, they under no circumstances extremely stuck to a format. they could in simple terms %. a music on the list, play it, and also you'll continually have style. what's with those programming directors? someone needs to remind them that there are more advantageous than 2 or 3 songs on an album.
