are you trying to use it on a school computer? sometimes it will install the device but wont let it make a drive for it in my computer if the computer has certain functions locked. you'll need the systems admin to allow the drive signing. if that is not the problem and you are on your own computer, uninstall and reinstall the drive.

If it is a network computer and you have external network drives connected to it, it COULD be getting a drive letter that is assigned to a network so it won't show up.

To see if your computer is seeing the thumb drive go into administrative tools in the control panel. Open Computer Management > then open Storage > and then Disk Management (local) See if the thumb drive is listed.

If it is then right click in the box listing the thumb drive and choose Change drive letters and paths and Assign it a new drive letter that is not being used.

It is is not listed in Computer Management then you need to get the drivers to support large USB thumb drives

Plug it into a different computer and see if it is a universal problem for the USB or if it is computer specific. If it's universal, go to download.com or Google "USB recovery" and check the results. There should be a free application. Otherwise, go to Windows Update page and do a custom install to check if there is an update driver for it.

You may need to update your USB drivers to deal with >1GB USB keys.

Go to your computer manufacturer's support page and download the latest USB driver for your system.
