I'm working out the area of a storage shed but I'm not sure how to draw it. I want to make a chalk version by my garage so I can lay some things inside it and get the general feel.
I've seen the actual shed, but obviosuly, untill I purchase it I can't put anything inside it. Do I just draw a 15ft by 15ft square?

No, because 15*15 is 225 square feet.
Square footage is measured by multiplying the length of a room by the width. A 30-square-foot space would be 6 feet across by 5 feet deep, or 10 feet by 3 feet, and so on and so forth.

A 15 by 15 ft. square will come out to 225 square feet.
30 square feet could be:
30 x 1
15 x 2
10 x 3
5 x 6

It won't be 15 ft by 15 ft -- that would make is a 225 square foot shed.
30 square feet will be 5'6" on a side for a 'square' shed.
It could also be rectangular: 3 x 10 or 4 x 7'6" or 5 x 6
5 x 6 would be a decent size.

You have way too much for 30 square feet.
One side of a square shed of 30 sq ft is
side = 30^0.5 or 5.47 feet
If the shed is 15 by 15
That would be 15^2 or 225 sq ft

No, 15 by 15 would be 225 sq feet. Take the length by the width and that is the total sq feet. So if you wanted something that is 30 sq feet that would be something like 5 by 6 or 10 x 3.

15ft x 15 ft is 225 square feet
(15 times 15 = 225)
a 30 square foot shed would have sides of 5.48 feet.
(square root of 30 is 5.48 feet)
The shed (if square), would have a length and width of 5.48 feet.

to figure area, simply multiply length x width.
15x15 would give you 225 sq ft, so your answer is no.
30 sqft is 4x7.5 or 5x6 or 2x30, 3x10. there are nearly an infinite number of ways to figure this.
best bet, go to the store where you have seen the shed, measure the length and width, WRITE IT DOWN, go home and chalk it out.

The formula for area of a circle is Pi x Rsquared. Pi is roughly 3.14 and r (radius) = 15. The area = 3.14 x 15 x 15. or 705.5 square feet. The distance around a circle is the circumference circumference = 2 Pi R or 2 x 3.14 x 15 = 94.2 feet.
