my friend's mom is in the hospital. i have never met her before and wouldn't know her if i passed her on the street. she's in the hospital and she was in icu. now she is out and is doing fine.

the problem is this guy keeps talking about his mom to me. he knows i don't like talking about that kind of stuff because it makes me uncomfortable because of recent situations in my life. but he continues to tell me every single detail more than once. he texts me updates more then 5 times an hour. and if i dont respond he will text me again or call me to talk about it. i do care about his mom because he is my friend, but he is acting like she is my mom too.

how can i tell him to leave me be with this?

Maybe what's happening to his mom is scary for him and he just needs to vent. Have you tried telling him just that (maybe you're just assuming that he knows you don't like talking about it and so you need to remind him that even though you are good friends and you like his mother and hope she feels better soon but it's too painful for you to talk about it because it brings up bad memories, so while you'll be there for him should he need you, he needs to change the topic or find someone else to talk about it with. And don't respond..so what if he texts you again or call me If he does tell him that you've told him you don't want to hear every detail and you meant it. Then should he start bringing it up, let him know you've got to go and sign off, or hang up.

that would be really hard to do....all he is doing to trying to get some atention. he is just really hurt right now by his mom and the icu thing and he probably just wants someone he loves and trusts to talk to and i bet if you werre in his situation he would be there for you

It sounds as if it may have been pretty stressful for him...be kind he sees a good soul in you....sometimes people go over things again and again out of fear ....be kind it will pass

sounds like he might be trying to mess with you. I would be up front and tell him to stop it!
