The U.S. has a boom in population and a bust in population generation. The boomers are part of the boom in population and generation X is a part of the bust in population generation. Generation X had the larger effect on the Great Society than Ronald Regan. If Generation X was larger, there would be no talk of the bust in medicare and social security. Less taxpayers means less money for programs.

Regan actually supported the great society. Government got larger and he signed into laws that increased taxes and spending.
